Barney Hobbs Memorial Scholarship
The Hamilton County Master Gardener Association offers a horticultural scholarship
each year. This is done in fond memory of Barney Hobbs, who was a founding member of this
association.
The Barney Hobbs Memorial Horticultural Scholarship is $1000.
Terms
- It will be given to one (1) Hamilton County high school senior or college student who has declared an intent to study horticulture or a
related subject, such as botany or landscape architecture.
- No regard will be given to age, color, gender, national origin, race or religion.
- Completed application, essay, instructor's recommendation and proof of college acceptance must be submitted.
- The above items are due by April 1st at the
Hamilton County Extension Office

- A scholarship committee of the Hamilton County Master Gardener Association will review the applications and may
interview each applicant.

- Instructor's recommendation
- Character
- Personality
- Leadership
Applications are available at the Hamilton County Extension Office. They are also available at Hamilton County
high schools by February.
