Garden Hideaways - Draw kids into the garden with their own special leafy hideaway. Try growing a sunflower house, hollyhock hut, gourd tunnel or pole bean teepee.

A children's hideaway is made from sunflowers planted in a big square, circle or rectangle, with an opening for a door, leaving the grass in the middle so the children have something to sit on. A teepee garden is made from long poles in a teepee pattern with pole beans or scarlet runner beans growing on them.

Gardens are for Fun - Try a theme garden to interest your kids in the great outdoors. A pizza garden, rainbow garden, butterfly garden or three sisters Indian garden are just a few ideas.

A rainbow garden is made up of annuals of different colors planted in a rainbow pattern.

A three sisters garden is based on the gardens of our Native Americans. They would plant corn in hills, surrounding the base of the hills would be climbing beans. The area all around the hills would be planted with squash. This would utilize the space and give a natural support to the beans.
