Hamilton County Indiana Master Gardener AAS Display Garden
All America Flower and Vegetable Selections
AAS winners are varieties chosen for
superior performance in trials at more than 60 sites across the United
States.
All-America Selections is a non-profit, educational organization
which has been trialing new varieties for the past sixty-five years. Prior
to that time there were no industry standards for evaluating plants and
flowers.
AAS has taken the guesswork out of finding flower and vegetable
varieties that will be reliable, vigorous, productive and superior in
gardens. If you're wondering what seeds to order while thumbing through the seed
catalogs this winter, consider trying some of the All America Selections
(AAS) flower and vegetable winners.
Besides just reading about the "new, improved" qualities of AAS winners
judge them for yourself by visiting one of the many Display Gardens located
throughout the US and Canada. These Display Gardens showcase the AAS
winners from the past five years.
The Hamilton County Master Gardener Association maintains one of these AAS
Display Gardens at the Hamilton County 4H Fairgrounds,
2003 East Pleasant Street, Noblesville, IN.
Master Gardeners undertook a major renovation of the AAS Display Garden. The AAS Garden has been reconstructed as a classic raised bed kitchen garden with flowers, vegetables and herbs combined. Come visit us or one of the other AAS Display Gardens.
